Most catwalk events have a theme that ties in with a season or a design concept, the makeup will therefore need to be included in the concept and the continuity to the design is above all very important. A professional makeup artist will be able to deal with catwalk lighting and thus be aware of the way colours can alter the appearance of makeup on stage. The makeup therefore should generally include strong eye makeup, brighter lip colour and strong cheek colour as spotlights will wash out natural makeup application and thus the face will appear flat with no dimension.
